It is a beautiful moment to watch, despite the difficult conditions. Unfortunately, my first view of the nest this morning showed one parent feeding two and it appears that the other did not survive. Here is a screen capture from a few moments after the feeding. It looks like the lost chick is at the 12 o’clock position. From the accounts I’ve seen the little one may have been stuck somehow, tangled and was unable to make it back to the nest bowl.
