Why Evolution Is True

Reader Ivar Husa identifies himself as a “novice bird photographer,” but he’s contributed some great bird shots.  Here are three, and for those interested in the equipment, he adds, “The camera was a Canon T2i, with a Canon 100-400mm lens, with 1.4x  teleconverter (560mm).”

Anna’s hummingbird (Calypte anna):

ACT NOW! Major falconry/raptor conservation issue in MT!

Uncategorized

http://fwp.mt.gov/news/publicNotices/armRules/pn_0114.html

No matter what side of the fence you’re on, please submit your comments to MT FWP. Please call for more research before this is enacted. Personally, I’m for wild-caught falconry birds unless someone shows me sufficient evidence to make me change my mind. But, this proposal by MT FWP is bad news, & not just because it allows for too high of a take rate. It makes no provisions for species, & environmental, impact. Please act if you consider yourself to be any kind of conservationist, from armchair to chaining yourself to a tree.
